Trips & Visits

During your child’s time at ASCC there will be many opportunities for visits and trips to support and extend the curriculum. These will include overseas visits to a variety of countries. Pupils also have many opportunities to engage in local study visits.

Each year your child will also have the opportunity to attend a Retreat which is organised by our College Chaplaincy Team and which gives opportunity for pupils to reflect and participate in spiritually enriching activities.

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award 

The The Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE) is all about going the extra mile – gaining new skills, pushing yourself physically, helping others and exploring new territories. At the same time, you’ll gather friendships, experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.

It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from, as long as you’re 14 to 24, you can choose the activities that motivate you and go on your own personal journey. We know from other participants that the DofE helps you stand out from the crowd when you apply for college, university or Jobs.

We, at All saints, are dedicated to the journey and experiences you child can go on and are proud of our Duke of Edinburgh programme. Over the past 3 years welcomed over 150 students onto the programme and have the highest participants in the area with over 45% of our year 9s participating. We are a school who are dedicated to the wellbeing of your child and we offer many of the activities within school or after school.

We are proud of the work that has been done by students from mentoring our younger year groups with reading to volunteering their own time for school events. Expeditions are the highlight of the award and students are fully engaged learning to read maps, use a compass, plan their meals, work in groups learn first aid, do CPR  and plan their routes and that’s before going camping in the wild!

Our Silver group go to Snowden for their assessment and has been a massive success. With 100% of students saying it was an event they would remember for life.
